Astro Mechanics is (IN ROUND ROCK TEXAS) looking for a full time Manual Machine Shop Supervisor. Astro Mechanics is a job shop for general manual machining and welding. We work on a wide variety of jobs ranging from small “walk in” individual jobs to large manufacturing jobs. We are NOT an automotive shop. Responsibilities: Responsible for day-to-day machine shop operations, including oversight of fabrication operations, and other shop projects. Responsible for daily activities in the machine shop as well as external interactions with customers and vendors. Will assign machining jobs to machinist and occasionally to the welders. Obtain material cost and determine labor cost for the purpose of providing quotes to customers. Order material and supplies based on each job/project. Implement and follow company policies, procedures, and directives. Work Monday thru Friday 7:30am to 5.00pm, with an occasional Saturday. Qualifications: 5+ years of leadership experience in a machine shop. 5+ years in machine shop job estimating. 5+ years of machine shop and fab experience. Knowledge of AutoCAD (Huge Plus) Knowledge of Excel. Must be able to read blueprints. Extensive hands-on experience with machine shop operations. Ability to communicate with employees, customers, vendors, etc. Knowledge/Skills Proficient knowledge and understanding of the manual machining process, and mill and lathe operations. Must be able to operate forklift, overhead crane, horizonal and vertical saws and shear. Must be able to read calipers, ID and OD micrometers. Must be able to work independently and demonstrate leadership skills and delegate work to employees. Must be a strong communicator and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple priorities at once. Salary position ($45K to $50K yearly).
