We are one of the newest retailers of Pedego Electric Bikes and will become the go-to place for bicycle sales, rentals, tours, and service in the vibrant Madison. At Pedego, we are known for the great care we take with clients and employees alike. We are looking for a Bicycle Specialist. The Pedego Bike Specialist position begins by offering great customer and sales service to our clients. In a part-time role, you will be responsible for an integral role in our amazing, exciting, and fun business of: Sharing the joy of the electric bicycle with the world! Our Bike Specialist is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of Pedego Electric Bikes, as well as the building of new bikes. Pedego Bike Specialists are responsible for following Pedego’s customer service standards and communicating effectively with customers. We are looking for someone to help provide mechanical support, but also someone who shows a willingness and an eagerness to put on a sales hat and help provide that extra special customer servicethat makes us stand out from the competition. Requirements: o Must have a strong mechanical background with prior or current experience working on bicycles, e-bike related knowledge in a bike shop setting highly desired. o Must be able to lace wheels and perform suspension rebuilds, and manage a full- service queue. o Solid interpersonal and communication skills. o Understands and follows oral and written instructions. Communicates clearly. o Self-motivated. o Ability to learn and process information through our systems. o Great attention to detail and accuracy. o Have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance (highly preferred). Physical Requirements: o Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing up to 60 pounds. o Ability to lift product overhead generally weighing up to 60 pounds. o While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extensive time periods; while occasionally walking, kneeling, reaching, or sitting. o Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates. Compliance with Company Standards o Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees and keeps a team approach in dealing with fellow employees and customers. o Contributes to a fun working climate which helps boost employee morale, productivity, and effectiveness. o Projects a favorable image of Pedego, inside and outside of the store. Location: Our store is located in the heart of the Madison on Main Street, accessible to municipal parking. Expectations: Customer Service o Consistently demonstrates a friendly, enthusiastic, positive attitude. o Welcomes customers with a smile and greeting customers with “Hello Fun!” o Answers phone calls and responds to customers in a timely manner. Mechanical o Strong understanding and knowledge of bicycle mechanics, components, and tools needed to complete repairs. o Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and complete estimates. o Conduct repairs including: - Diagnose custom Pedego Electric Bike error codes - Repair flat tires and tune wheels. - Bottom bracket adjustments. - Headset adjustments. - Brake adjustments. - Tune-ups. - Derailleur adjustments. - Complete bike builds. o Follow company procedures for ordering special parts and submitting warranty claims Benefits: o Pay commensurate with experience and responsibility.
