Description
DEF Washington DC is excited to host a social gathering with national security impacts on 15 JULY at 6:30 PM Modern warfare is becoming increasingly dependent on the EMS. Essentially all command and control, communications, ISR, precision guided munitions, GPS, and low observable (stealth) technology depends on the ability to control the EMS. Recognizing this, our competitors are manning, training, and equipping themselves to deny us freedom of action in the EMS. Often discounted simply as lightning bolts on PowerPoint, the EMS has long been neglected. A whole nation approach is necessary to ensure freedom of action within the EMS at the time and place of our choosing. Necessary efforts will range from renewed government policies, to reinvigorated academic research, to leap-ahead industrial technologies. The EMS represents a giant opportunity space for warfighters, entrepreneurs, investors, technologists, researchers, and policymakers alike. Our Speakers for the night will be: Pat Flood is a Senior National Security Policy Advisor at the U.S. House of Representatives Ken Miller is the Director of Advocacy & Outreach at the Association of Old Crows Scott Oliver is the Director of the Board of Advisors at the RVJ Institute Who should attend & why? If you use a mobile phone, GPS, WiFi, or drive a car built after 1989, you have a dependence on the EMS. RVJ Institute will be the evening's content sponsor Association of Old Crows will be opening their doors for us About DEFThe mission of the Defense Entrepreneurs Forum is to inspire, connect and empower people by convening events, forging partnerships and delivering tangible solutions. We do this in order to promote a culture of innovation in the U.S. national security community. We are united in this purpose through service to our nation and the desire to bring new ideas and innovations to the national security ecosystem. We recognize that large, multi-tiered organization can stymie new ideas and ways of solving problems. Within any such group, there are people driven to find new, better, faster, cheaper, easier and more effective solutions. DEF unites those people, enabling them with avenues to express themselves, connect with like-minded individuals, and gain the insights, mentorship and support necessary to bring their ideas to execution. If you have an interest in national security, regardless of whether you work in government, academia, a startup, policy or industry, you may also be a virtuous insurgent. Find out more and join us at DEF.org. The Defense Entrepreneurs Forum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We inspire, connect and empower people to promote a culture of innovation in the U.S. national security community by convening events, forging partnerships and delivering tangible solutions.
