I live in East Alton, Illinois with my now husband of 15 years. We met when I lived in St. Louis, and lived there for a few years. Growing up in St. Louis, I never had desire to learn how to drive. I never ever had a problem getting around on my own. Even though I could get around on my own he always pushed me to get a driver’s license. I always said no, and politely put in words that I had no desire to. I personally believe I’m one of those people who probably should not have one. I just don’t feel safe being behind a wheel. Fast forward to today, he still insists on me getting my drivers license. I’m sorry; but I’ve paid real close attention to how people drive around here, and a majority of these people should not drive. Multiple times a week when I’m in the car with him we almost get either in a wreck or almost killed cause someone either runs a red light or is too busy on a phone. He still gets after me bout learning to drive, and literally gets mad. Telling me I have no common sense!! I’m like, okay after 15 years of being together, if your still getting after me bout this…and can’t respect my right to make this decision…your the one with the problem, not me!!!
