Description

Help SCDNR plant marsh grass along the Ashely River! Join SCDNR staff in helping plant marsh grass behind oyster reefs at a Charleston restoration site. We will have everything you need, just come wearing closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get muddy and wet. Due to the site location and extra soft pluff mud, volunteers must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, withstand working outside and must be 16 years and older (high schoolers must be accompanied by an adult). Please bring a reusable water bottle to minimize waste (we will have coolers to refill and cups for those that need them). Parking: Please park outside of the gate along the street. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Coastal Reserve & Outreach section offers public programs to inspire stewardship and appreciation of our state’s coastal resources.
