Join us for an evening exploration of insects and nocturnal forest life. At night, the forest turns into a whole new world of different insects, birds, and mammals that we miss if we are only outside during the day. During this night hike we will turn our focus to nocturnal insects, as we use flashlights to gain "spider vision", use lights and sheets to get a closer look at fluttering moths, and identify the katydid and cricket songs that echo across the dark forest. Bring a flashlight and comfortable walking shoes for this easy paced hike through the field and forest. Ages 8+; under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. An environmental education, arts and recreation center situated on 152 acres in the beautiful Highlands region of northern NJ.
