AUSTIN, TX — Two homes and two cars in Austin caught fire late Saturday night due to fireworks, fire officials in the Texas capital city said.
Fireworks landed in the carport of a duplex on Donahue Lane in southeast Austin, according to officials. Two cars appear to be a total loss, with "significant damage" present at two homes on the street.
"This is why fireworks are illegal in the city of Austin," the Austin Fire Department wrote on Twitter late Saturday.

Video footage from Donahue Lane shows active flames coming from two cars, with smoke spreading through the area.
It wasn't known early Sunday afternoon whether anyone was injured in the fires.
