Special dog for a special boy

My son is 7 years old and has Asburgers. He is extremely smart, reading at a 3rd grade level and math at a 6. We are trying to find him a pet to be his ESA. We have one dog that is a service dog for my physical disability but my boy needs something smaller he will be more comfortable with. We would love to find one that needs a good home as much as we need them. We aren't picky as long as there are no fleas, and the dog isn't nippy. Please understand, I am a stay at home mom and fully aware of what it takes to take care of a dog. I have vet references if needed.
