Description
FT or PT ranch position available for horse-experienced person(s) to care for horses (and other animals): feed, muck, water, turnout, fence repairs, facility repairs/maintenance, other projects, as needed at horse rescue. Work alongside volunteers to care for 50 +/- horses and other animals
Must have substantial horse experience.
Not suitable for beginner horse-lovers (though volunteer activities are available).
Mornings, M-F start 7:30a-12:30p, afternoon 3p-6p, until done.
Potential to split to two positions with added weekend shifts
Non-profit organization
Must be:
--strong and able to lift, push, pull heavy loads (75-100#+), including hay bales,
--able to work in any/all weather conditions, summer heat to winter cold, wind/rain,
--a team player, work well with others (volunteers) while also working well alone
--be a self-starter, able to prioritize and multi-task,
--follow instructions well,
--flexible to changing circumstances
--punctual, dependable, reliable, trustworthy,
--must have excellent references.
--18 years or older
--legally able to work in the United States
Must have own transportation and clean driving record
No riding, training, or exercising with this position.
No drug or alcohol use/no tolerance
May also have PT work available at our used tack store for the right person with experience with tack, retail, and/or online sales
May also have PT/FT position available for experienced horse trainer with substantial groundwork / starting experience and mustang gentling experience. This must be someone that is passionate about horses, natural horsemanship background, rescue-oriented, and believes in the importance of lifelong horse-human relationships.
