⛪Amateurs Wanted to Sing Gregorian Chant

Meets

Pier 45 near Taylor Street, San Francisco CA

Description

Additional men are invited to add their voices to our Gregorian schola cantorum (small choir) to sing Gregorian plainchant in the traditional Latin services for which the chant was written. We sing in St. John's Oratory at the Fishermen's & Seamen's Memorial Chapel at Fishermen's Wharf, Pier 45, San Francisco. No previous knowledge of the chant or musical notation is required; most of our participants have had little or no music background. We can teach you all that you need to know by ear if you have just a basic ability to sing. No auditions. You do not have to be Catholic. We are a small, friendly group, no pressure, just enjoyment, but we have a knowledgeable leader. We are lovers of the chant who show what is possible to accomplish over time by an amateur small chant choir. For further information, see our web site at www.traditio.com/stjohn.htm. If you are interested, you may contact the Oratory. If you are interested, you may contact the Oratory by Email: ssja at traditio.com.
