Description
A wonderful Asheville family is looking for a part time nanny to join their care team: Our sweet baby boy will be 4 months old at the time of hire. Our 3 year old girl/boy twins are both SUPER happy kids, day time potty trained, and starting preschool in the fall. We are looking for a highly qualified individual who has professional experience nannying. Someone who is calm, grounded, and powerfully present with toddlers and newborns would be a great fit for our family. This position is mainly focused on childcare, but will at times include some housekeeping tasks while the kids are sleeping. Hours: Thursday: 4:30-6:30pm, at times extended to 7:30 or beyond Friday: 8am-2:45pm; 4:15-7:30pm Saturday: 8am-2:45pm (note, once a month this may fall on a Sunday instead). This position will be approximately 20 hours a week, plus the opportunity for additional hours if/when needed. - COVID-19 Vaccination or Extremely Low Risk Lifestyle Required - Resume, Previous Child Care Experience & References Required - Must Be Efficient, Detail Oriented, Mentally Sharp and Able to Multitask It is extremely important to us that our Nanny thrives in this position, feels appreciated, well cared for and free to express themselves. We believe that healthy communication is essential and as such are life-long students of Nonviolent Communication. A little more about us...our home is located in a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood just a 5 min walk to Beaver Lake. We work well with people who are calm, grounded, present, and have a high level of both emotional intelligence and empathy. We are more “Type A” than “B” personalities and appreciate working with those who are coachable, efficient and detail-oriented. We work from home but maintain offices on a separate floor (with separate entrances) from the main living space and balance our schedules in a way that does not interrupt the routine of the children/Nanny. Our family thrives on scheduled routine, healthy whole food nutrition, time in nature, non-electronic toys and self-directed play. We are big believers in the R.I.E. approach (Resources for Infant “Educarers”) and the “Baby Sleep Solution” program and have been greatly influenced by the work of Janet Landsbury, Circle of Security and the Love and Logic Parenting Approach. We taught our twins baby sign language and maintain a Montessori inspired play space. We are so thankful that our 3-year-olds get along well and love their new baby brother. Basically, we are geeks with really happy and well-regulated children! The vision is for our Nanny to enjoy a beautiful experience of growth alongside our family. Travel opportunities may be available after the pandemic is over. This part-time position will sometimes look like managing all three children, having just the twins, or caring solely for the baby.
