The Bakersfield project needs your rock and classic country drumming sensibilities together with your tenor harmonies for a celebration of Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, RosevMadfox, Ira and Charlie Louvin, the Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Waylon, Willie, Townes Van Zandt, and a host of other pioneering country rock artists as well as those who have drawn inspiration from them over the years.
We have assembled Drums/Vocals, Bass/Vocals, GuitarKeys/Vocals, Pedal Steel/Lap Steel, Lead Guitar and Keyboards and have begun in-person rehearsals in a vaccinated Covid-safe safe environment. But recently our drummer informed us that he can’t continue with us. So we’re looking for a replacement and we need your drumming and vocal talents to help keep it country while doing justice to the rockers who worked to forge a new genre. We want you because you are equally at home with Lover if the Bayou and Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down.
The current lineup is spread out across Bucks and Montgomery counties and the current thought is to practice somewhere in the vicinity of Doylestown, our geographic center of gravity. However, if this post resonates with you and you are a little further afield, don’t let that stop you from responding; we can always tweak the logistics for the right participants.
Looking to practice this summer to be ready for gigging in the fall. Come help us do this and do it right. Looking forward to hearing from you.
