Description
DJ COLETTE @ SUNDAY FUNDAY ON LARIMER SQUARE Presented in TURBOSOUND! In the spring of 2008, Ryan Dykstra was creating events and starting new concepts for Regas Christou and his CoClubs organization. Regas wanted to get more use out of the freshly renamed and remodeled Jonas Furs building now called Bar Standard (formerly Shelter, formerly Serengeti), and asked Dykstra to get to work. Drawing inspiration from the patio, rooftop and pool parties that were happening in Miami & Los Angeles at the time, he set out to create a day party, with Colorado's best DJs playing all day long. It took a little while to catch on, but by the middle of the summer, the multiple rooftops of the Jonas Furs building were completely packed with party people. In the years following, Dykstra moved the party around to many other locations, with stops at Beta, Sutra, The Meadowlark, Lincoln Street Station and more, and of course, many other club owners and promoters copied the concept, and now the idea of a Sunday day party is a normal and expected part of the Denver "nightlife" (or "daylife") landscape. This is the ORIGINAL Colorado Sunday Funday and it just keeps getting better.
