Join these special interconnected tours, allowing you to visit two of Albany's finest museums to explore the role of Native Americans in our region. The perfect immersive tour experience for those interested in nature, indigenous plants, Native American history, intercultural contact, and art history. Start at the Ten Broeck Mansion to learn about our landscape before European colonization. Learn about Dirck Ten Broeck's role as a Commissioner of Indian Affairs, and his son's intercultural fluency. Next visit the Albany Institute of History & Art to take a self-guided tour directing you to historic artifacts representing these Native perspectives. Proceed to the AIHA's renowned Hudson River School galleries, and see these classic works with new eyes. Native Voices Immersion Tour: Start at 1 pm: Ten Broeck Mansion (until 2:00 pm)We suggest you reserve an additional 15-20 minutes to explore the 4 acre historic landscape and gardensVisit the Albany Institute of History and Art - reserve at least an hour to 90 minutes for your visit - all galleries are open with this ticket. The AIHA closes at 5 pm. Tickets are honored for the same day only.Important tour information: all visitors will be expected to comply with site regulations for COVID-19 including wearing masks and practicing social distancing.please note: historic sites have uneven walkways and historic staircases: walking shoes recommended.children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.please ensure you leave enough time to travel between sites (about 10 minutes driving). Tours start promptly.tours are held rain or shine.parking: the Ten Broeck Mansion has ample free parking in an off-street lot off of Livingston Avenue. The AIHA has a free lot on Dove Street (intersection of Washington Avenue and Dove Street).
