NORTHPORT, NY — A man is missing after he fell overboard while fishing in Northport Bay on Saturday morning, Suffolk police said. Christopher Calma, 50, was fishing with his 14-year-old son on a 2020 22-foot Sea Fox Commander when he fell into the water around 9:30 a.m., police said. The man is wearing dark clothes and no life jacket, the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound wrote on Facebook. Calma could not swim, Harbor Master Fred Uvena told News 12. Calma's son was not injured, police said. The search is still on as of 4 p.m. Saturday. The Northport, Centerport, Halesite, Huntington and Eaton's Neck fire departments assisted Coast Guard, police and Harbormaster marine units in the search with boats and manpower, said public information officer Steve Silverman. Anyone with information was asked to call Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound at 203-468-4421. Marine Bureau officers are being assisted in the search by Aviation Section, United States Coast Guard, multiple fire departments, Nassau County Police and the Huntington Harbor Master.
