Job Title: Community Fundraising Coordinator/Paid Canvasser Classification: Contract Compensation: ● $25-$30/hour ● Up to 100% bonuses depending on performance Start: ASAP Closing: After 24 positions are filled Location: Seattle, WA Description: Join our awesome community fundraising team to help gather signatures for the upcoming Seattle Mayoral election! The City of Seattle has funding and signature requirements for all candidates who qualify to receive grassroots funding through the democracy voucher program. This job will involve street canvassing around the city and gathering signatures from Seattle residents. Duties and Responsibilities: A successful canvasser needs to connect with a large number of people in a small amount of time. Canvassers will gather democracy voucher forms from city residents and return them to the campaign field office on a daily basis. The ideal canvasser should have excellent communication skills, sales experience, and a clear knowledge of the candidate and the democracy voucher program or ability to excel in fast paced environments. Canvassers should be prepared to: ● Memorize and recite scripts and statements prepared and provided by the campaign ● Go door-to-door or travel to a staging locations to gather signatures ● Confidently answer questions ● Attend community events to gather signatures ● Meet daily signature quotas
