Description

Press release from the City of Coppell: July 2, 2021 As part of the budget process each year, the Coppell City Council reviews applications and presentations from local service organizations seeking monetary assistance from the City. A variety of service organizations will present to the Council at the July 8, 2021, Budget Workshop. For fiscal year 2021-2022, the City Council is considering requests in the amount of $285,787. Organizations asking for assistance include the Coppell Arts Council, the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, Metrocrest Services, the Coppell YMCA and Woven Community Clinic (formerly Metrocrest Community Clinic). The funding requests range in values from approximately $6,487 to $90,000.  Historically, the funding requests approved by City Council amount to approximately .3% of the total General Fund budget, but the services that these organizations provide has a far greater value.  If approved by the City Council, the funding assistance will go toward programs that have a direct impact on Coppell residents. The organizations that are funded provide vital services that improve the quality of life in Coppell that the City cannot cost effectively offer.
