Professional makeup artist and entrepreneur, Christelsie Johnson is rapidly making a name for herself in the world of television and film. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre Education and Performance from Florida A&M University. She went on to receive her Aesthetic license from The Florida College of Natural Health. Her introduction to makeup began as a Theatre major where her focus was acting but, she studied all aspects of the art, from acting, directing, lighting, to makeup, etc. She went on to become a public-school teacher and then a director of arts in therapy for a counseling agency. After being laid off she took what she thought would be a temporary job in cosmetics, with MAC cosmetics.  There her love for the art developed.  She has now worked as a full-time makeup artist for 11 years and her portfolio is impressive!  Christelsie has worked with numerous celebrities, magazines, NBA cheerleading teams, top hair companies, brides and has 20 television and film credits under her belt.  She served most recently as makeup department head for Tales, which begins airing on June 27th on BET and then on Jay Z’s Tidal.  She also served as makeup department head on TV One’s upcoming movie When Love Kills, airing Labor Day.   As a makeup artist, Christelsie has worked with individuals from all walks of life.  Domestic violence victims, prostitutes, cancer patients, and everyday women wanting to feel better about themselves, have all graced Christelsie’s makeup chair.  It’s her experience with these clients, along with her own life challenges, that has led her to develop her new company My T.R.U.E. Beauty L.L.C.  She believes that true beauty can only be achieved when the inside is just as beautiful as the outside. Individuals with higher self-esteem make better choices and in turn, embrace their inner beauty.  T.R.U.E.
