Description

Press release from the White Plains Public Library: July 2, 2021 As the pandemic has demonstrated, many of us have rediscovered the satisfaction and stress relief of making–whether it's baking sourdough bread, knitting a scarf, or making a holiday ornament from materials around the house. White Plains cardholders can now enjoy unlimited access to creativebug, a site that offers thousands of art and craft classes by well-respected designers and instructors who bring years of practice, tried-and-true teaching methods, and the ability to demonstrate every step clearly. Simply create an account using your email address and password of your choosing, and you are on your way. Please note that if you are accessing creativebug from home, you will first be prompted to enter your library card number and PIN to get to creativebug. Among the many topics covered are sewing, knitting, drawing and painting, cake decorating, and paper crafting. New content is added regularly, and a Daily Practice Series (one new class each day of the month) will inspire the beginner as well as the seasoned crafter. And don't forget to check the Library's online calendar for upcoming arts and crafts programs by guest presenters or staff. Our recent Quick n Easy series have included crocheting, glass painting, sewing, and origami–with more slated for this fall. We welcome suggestions for workshops of interest to you. Send them to Library Director Brian Kenney at [email protected]. Access creativebug here. This press release was produced by the White Plains Public Library.
