Press release from the City of Huntsville: July 2, 2021 The Huntsville Police Department D.U.I. Task Force will be patrolling throughout the City during the holiday weekend. If you are stopped by an officer, be prepared to present your driver's license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration to officers. The Task Force utilizes data provided by NASO (North Alabama Safety Office) to determine traffic accident hotspots across the City. There are 57 designated hotspots throughout Huntsville, and officers will be patrolling these locations. Remember to also buckle up, failure to buckle up is a contributing factor in many traffic fatalities. The D.U.I. Task Force patrols the City to keep all drivers safe and help detect and deter impaired driving. If you see or suspect someone is drinking and driving, please contact the Huntsville Police Department at 256-722-7100. When you call be prepared to give the location, vehicle description, driver description, and direction of travel for the suspected vehicle.
