I just bought a SPOT X device to take with me when backpacking alone. My friends and family urged me to do it. This allows a person to communicate in case of an emergency. I will use it about 2 times a year for about 4 days each time. So I was very reluctant to buy it. But I did. Now I'd like to share it. If you want to use it in the next couple of weeks, there's no cost (because I paid for a month of service... that's right, not only did I have to buy it but I had to pay for a 'plan' to use it...)
