We are seeking entry level Footwear Operators for our Portland factory. We are currently hiring for both day and swing shift. Monday - Friday; regular working hours for 1st shift is 6:00 am - 2:30 pm; 2nd Shift is 3:30 pm - 12:30 am. Occasionally, we also work overtime, which could be daily or on Saturdays. Starting and ending times may vary due to overtime needs. Danner is a long-term company with internal growth opportunities for our employees! About the position • Starting pay: $16.50 • Full-time • Union position • Up to $400 hiring bonus upon successfully completing probation. • Regular pay increases based on hours worked. • No cost health insurance premiums • Medical, dental, and vision insurance after 180 days • 401K • Paid vacation/sick and holiday • Tuition reimbursement • Employee discounts, get a pair of Danner boots each year for $5 Duties: • Manufactures footwear products by performing repetitive short cycle task/movements. May use hand and power tools, small to large machinery, mechanical fixtures, and test equipment. • Rotate between operations with work area as well as between departments. • Adheres to company two-pass quality system which requires to inspect incoming work prior to performing work on it and inspect completed work prior to passing on to the next operation. • Responsible for basic set-ups, adjusts and monitors equipment. • Assist in training co-worker as required. • Comply with safety, quality, and production standards requirement. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements: • Pass a background and drug screen. • 1-2 years production experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment utilizing industrial machinery. • Must be able to handle work that is repetitious. • Must be able to overtime as required. • Within a diverse work environment, must respect individual difference and utilize the diverse thinking and contribution of all team members. • Dependable with a good record of attendance.
