PLEASE READ BEFORE RESPONDING!! I have an absolutely beautiful well-bred chocolate pointed shar pei. He is 100% trained, house trained and leash trained, knows sit stay lay down etc. He is only 7 and still has the energy of a much younger pup. Covid has brought serious financial hardship upon my household, and after giving this serious thought i know i need to do what is right by my dog. He has a mast cell tumor - very common in dogs and totally treatable, but i do not have the means to take care of him properly at this time. the tumor has ulcerated so i know he really needs to get to the vet. treatment is very straightforward and just consists of having the tumor removed. i wish i could afford it, i just cannot at this point in my life. He is very well socialized and gets along with other dogs swimmingly. He also loves kids and is unbelievably gentle with them- his first owner was a 5 year old girl. He does not have an agressive bone in his body. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines, though will be due next month. he is microchipped and i will pass on the info to put this in your name. he needs to be with a family who has a stay at home parent or a remote worker, at least for the first little while as he adjusts to his new home. i can offer free pet sitting for the rest of his life or would be willing to come give him walks if you need some help one week. i would also understand if you don't want to do that, just wanted to offer. i let him see the family i adopted him from monthly when i first took him in and it helped everyone tremendously. He is free to a good home with the following criteria: 1) the new owner will let me take him to see your house and interview you in person and 2) the new owner can provide proof that they have made him a vet appointment, in the form of an emailed receipt or appointment reminder. i have a million pictures, just email me with some info about your situation and your phone number. if you sound like a good fit i will text you photos and figure out a time to meet. thank you!
