Since the warmer weather is here and these guys are crawling around, I just want to remind everyone that painting their shells IS NOT GOOD FOR THEM. It may seem harmless to you, but their shells are VERY important to them! 🐢 Paint blocks their shells from absorbing essential vitamins they need from the sun! 🐢 Turtles have sensitive respiratory systems, paint is not good for their lungs and sinuses! 🐢 It pushes toxic chemicals into their bloodstreams! 🐢 Turtles need their NATURAL shells to camouflage themselves from predators! 🐢 It is also a pain in the butt to remove these paints from their shells, it sometimes even stains. So please... paint a wall, some furniture, your nails, hell I don’t care paint yourself! Just leave the turtles alone! 🐢💗
