FlatRate Moving is seeking a Junior Mechanic to help maintain its truck fleet. As a Junior Mechanic you will be responsible for maintaining our trucks (Isuzu & Mitsubishi), report issues, provide road safety test to drivers and update our driver assignment system. Ability to work on trucks is a must and a valid driver’s license (CDL NOT NECESSARY). Duties include: Work with Operations department to assign trucks to drivers Provide driver road tests to new drivers Provide driver safety training to new and current drivers Update trucks based on DOT regulations Use Verizon connect to assign trucks and logbook to truck drivers Inspect trucks and report issues to planning manager and VP of Operations Work with the senior mechanic to service vehicles Use Verizon Connect ( ELD reveal) to assign drivers and locate trucks Talk to Drivers to determine issues with trucks on a daily basis Fleet Maintenance Duties: **You will begin with simple duties including oil changes, light maintenance, electrical repairs and lamps** Assist in ordering and obtaining necessary parts and supplies Fuel, wash, and clean administrative vehicles Assist with loading and unloading of warehouse supply trucks Assist with repairing and trouble shooting and Tow broken-down vehicles Ensure the trucks are clean and ready for the road Respond to emergency as requested Qualifications and Experience: Must have knowledge of DOT regulations Familiar with trucks and Verizon connect Must be able to drive at least a 24 ft truck (DOT license not required) Must be comfortable navigating the internet and using a computer Must have a valid driver’s license Must be able to pay attention to details and be extremely organized
