God's Way Foundation will be giving away 1000 FREE backpacks full of school supplies to over 500 families in celebration of Back-To-School. God's Way Foundation Presents:'Back-To-School' Giveaway CelebrationRegistration on Eventbrite is NOT REQUIRED for admission to the celebration. Distribution of backpacks will be FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. A ticket does not reserve backpacks or school supplies!Event Description: God's Way Foundation is giving away 1000 FREE brand-new backpacks, notebooks, pencils, paper, crayons, and all the other supplies that students will need this school year. We’ve partnered with some great businesses in our local area, like Retro Fitness Freeport and Chef Elvis Caribbean Restaurant. Together we are hosting a back-to-school event to reduce the economic burden and stress on families. Come enjoy fun, music, refreshments, free ice cream & celebrate the start of the new school year with your community! Children and their families have been hit hardest by the subsequent economic crisis. 2020 was a difficult year for many families, to say the least. As summer draws to a close, students of all ages and their families are tasked with preparing for a brand new school year. The National Retail Federation reports that the average family expects to spend close to $800 on back-to-school shopping this year. Between the costs of clothes, backpacks, and school supplies, it’s easy to see how it all adds up. Unfortunately, there’s not enough room in the family budget for many families to buy even the basics. Having all the necessary supplies (from backpacks to pencils) allows a child to enter the classroom confidently and well-prepared for success. We at God's Way Foundation believe that proper equipment is a key component of 'student preparedness'. A durable, long-lasting, high-end backpack goes a long way in helping our pupils securely store their belongings for an extended amount of time, while easing the financial strain on parents.
