Horns+Keys 60's NOLA based Retro Soul band forming... There's 2 kinds of Musicians in this world: those who play straight out of the ego, wanking in public, and then there are those those who channel everything through the Heart and Soul... A crowd always feels the difference when they experience the latter... We are looking for a Keys Wiz who pours that Heart and Soul off the stage like a big steamin' vat o' ham hock stew and takes a room to another friggin' dimension. Covers focused on early Ray Charles and Dr John along with artists like Lee Moses, James Carr, Lee Dorsey, Curley Moore, Alvin Robinson, etc with some fun stuff mixed in like The Meters, Jimmy Liggins, Clarence Carter, Huey "Piano" Smith, Bobby Bland, Lionel Robinson, Allen Touissant, etc. And a few curveballs of rock etc tunes revisioned 60s NOLA Soul style... We also have more than a solid album's worth of Retro Soul Originals written. Band lineup would ultimately be bass, drums, keys, lead singer, horns and female backup Soul Singers. Horns would ultimately be tenor and barry sax, trumpet and bass trombone. We have some great connections for all positions, but they are working as much as possible so we are open to some great heart and soul dedicated band member horns as well. We want this band to give a crowd the best night out they've had in a damn long while and has them buzzing for days afterwards... This is ground floor and we need a dedicated Keyboardist who has time and inclination to work on developing the Originals and rehearse. Not excessive rehearsals, but we want to be tight right out of the gate and blow some faces out. Speaking of which, this is kinda the J. Geils Band Blueprint, but instead of guitar and harp at least two horns... and female Soul Harmonies Old School NOLA bar band style... Raw and real. Serving the Music and the Audience first and foremost. Great rehearsal space available when needed in Waltham and several local opportunities for some special venues. Once we build it, they will come, and come back time and time again. People are seriously starving for this sh*t... We're on that proverbial "Mission From Gahd..." We also have a great Sound Engineer who is very active in some great emerging local music projects and developments. We will have great opportunities to bust onto the Scene.
