Basic throwing techniques on the electric pottery wheel. Good for beginners or as a refresher course. Pottery Wheel WorkshopSingle Session Workshop Choose One: Thursday, July 15 6 pm - 9 pm OR Sunday, July 18 10 am - 1:00 pm Non-Members: $75 Members or Returning Students: $60 Materials Fee: $10 This single session workshop will cover the basics of throwing clay on the pottery wheel. Beginners will learn the fundamentals of throwing while more advanced students will review their techniques and focus on improvements and challenging themselves with new shapes and sizes. This class will take place indoors and masks are required. This workshop is open to adults and teens 13 and up. About the Instructor: Darren Corona is a local ceramicist, and owner of Tikicraft. He has been working with and teaching ceramics for over two decades.  Darren's passion is discovering lesser known ceramic techniques and bringing them to his students for them to explore.  *Please Note: This workshop takes place in our Staten Island Location* Staten Island MakerSpace450 Front Street, Unit B Staten Island, NY 10304 MakerSpace NYC is a non-profit, community workspace for makers, builders, tinkerers, hardware developers, hobbyists, artists, entrepreneurs, and anyone with a curious mind who wants to make something.
