During this workshop you’ll work with the masjesty red and learn how to obtain pinks and purples from this magical bug. Cochineal, expensive and one of the best kept secrets of the Spanish for centuries, is said to be the most intense and color-fast red in the natural world—and derives from insects. This class will immerse you into natural dyeing as we explore ways of acquiring various colors from cochineal, the deepest red. Cost: $75.00 Time: 2pm-5pm All supplies included. Participants will also receive a piece of silk and muslin to use during the workshop, in addition to natural yarn. Tea bar and nibbles are available while they last.
