Sweet and spikey, as the lavender flower, Zuskin’s songs are lilting and dreamy, as much as they jolt and shake you to the edge of your seat. Her diverse musical inspirations peak through in the seemingly pop and folk-rock arrangements. In a guitar solo, a rock guitar riff, a longing lyric or a hauntingly ethereal line. It’s as if the darkness and the light meld to create the sound itself. Joined by Landon Goerge on drumkit and Margo Schultz on bass with frequent additions from longtime engineer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Mike Johnson the 4 recorded their sophomore EP “I Get Lost” in the midst of the pandemic in spring of 2020. Johnson and Zuskin collaborated on the production in their shared studio the Cat’s Claw in Asheville, NC. As diverse in her skills as her songwriting, Zuskin has produced and engineered country/ americana and folk albums for predominantly female identifying artists Lo Wolf, Valorie Miller, Laura Blackley and Sophia Corinne. She has collaborated with Big Violin Player of South Korea on the instrumental EP Big Blue. Look out for the forthcoming EP “I Get Lost” on May 7th, 2021.
