The City of Providence is hitting the streets to raise awareness about vaccines and get people registered for vaccine appointments.
Despite recent changes to masking guidelines and strong vaccination rates at the State level, the SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to spread in Providence and cause new cases of COVID-19. Our team will be heading into the City's 'hot zones' for COVID-19 transmission as well as our 'cold zones' for vaccination rates to bring materials and information to help protect residents.
In some of these areas, less than 40% of adults have received their 1st dose of a COVID-19 vaccine which means that the virus can continue to spread easily. This is especially the case in the City's high density communities (HDCs) where the tightly-packed urban layout makes transmission easier. It is our goal to meet people where they are to give information on the vaccines available and to help make vaccine appointments for those interested.
Please join us to help make getting vaccinated an easier choice for our hard-working families and to ensure the good health of our vibrant Capital City.
