Learn a variety of enameling techniques from Visiting Artist Lauren Markley! 1-Day Visiting Artist Workshop Date: Saturday, October 9, 2021 Time: 10am-5pm Description: We will cover the basics of enameling, including cleaning the metal, counter enamel, fire scale protection, and top coats. We will then spend time on a variety of techniques including the use of stencils, graphite, and glass reflector beads. We will also play with dimensional forms such as domed or angular pieces. Troubleshooting, dealing with trivet marks, and proper safety will also be discussed. Students will have the opportunity to make many samples, as well as components that could be used in earrings, rings, or pendants. If you are interested in learning how to incorporate your enamels into finished pieces, consider joining us on Sunday for Lauren's second workshop, Fabricating with Enamel Components. Tuition: $120 + $30 materials fee - This workshop only$225 + $50 materials fee - Both workshopsMaterials: All materials are provided. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops. Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $50 cancellation fee for a visiting artist workshop.
