MADISON, WI — Coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.We have all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Madison so you can start planning now.Here's what's in store this July 4 in Madison: July 4 Festivities What: Festival Foods Lights The IsthmusWhere: Breese Stevens Field, 917 E. Mifflin Street, MadisonWhen: 5 p.m. on July 3Sponsored by Festival Foods, Lights the Isthmus will be held on Saturday, July 3. The celebration will feature local bands, food, drinks and a fireworks display launched from the field and a nearby building. Gates open at 5 p.m. and music starts an hour later. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to sit on the field. Tickets are $10 and children under 12 are free. An all-inclusive rooftop ticket with all-you-can-eat food and three beers is $45. Tickets go on sale this Monday at 10 a.m. What: Sun Prairie Fireworks CelebrationWhere: Angell Park Speedway, 315 Park Street, Sun PrairieWhen: 6:30 p.m. on July 4Starting at 6:30, a Fourth of July celebration and fireworks display will take place at Angell Park Speedway, located at 315 Park Street. What: Village of DeForest 4th of July CelebrationWhere: Fireman's Park, 300 Jefferson Street, DeForestWhen: 1 to 11:30 p.m. on July 4The Village of DeForest is hosting a day of fun for 4th of July. The main stage live entertainment begins at 1 p.m. and includes a special tribute to veterans and armed forces, followed by a fireworks set at dusk. What: Stoughton FairWhere: Stoughton Fairgrounds in Mandt Park, 321 S. Fourth Street, StoughtonWhen: 9 a.m. to dusk on July 4The Stoughton Fair runs from June 30 to July 4. On the last day, to celebrate the 4th of July, there will be dairy shows, a carnival and, at dusk, a fireworks display. What: Lake Leota July 4th CelebrationWhere: Lake Leota Park, EvansvilleWhen: 6 to 9:30 p.m. on July 4This celebration at Lake Leota will include live music from Titan Fun Key, a fireworks display and more. What: WaunaBoomWhere: Ripp Park, 213 Dorn Drive, WaunakeeWhen: 2 to 10:30 p.m. on Jul 4The WaunaBoom is a celebration of Independence Day and the Village of Waunakee's 150th anniversary. The event will include live music, food, a flyover, a special honoring of the Ho-Chunk Nation and a fireworks display.
