Description

Enrichment students enrolled in the Early Childhood Center (ECC) of Congregation Shir Shalom of Westchester and Fairfield Counties pitched in to help parents in the annual Moms for Moms Diaper Drive, which collected 60 pounds of goods. Among students participating were Nora Perry, Lucy Levi and Logan Cinnamon. The donation of goods benefits Community Center of Northern Westchester (CCNW), which "was very thankful that such a small school produced big results," said ECC Director Sarah Denyer. One in three low-income families cannot afford diapers. The two-week drive enables CCNW, which serves more than 3,000 families, to give each mother who comes to the food pantry for support a gift bag filled with wipes, diapers, and essential toiletries to help ease their financial burden. Handmade cards by local preschool children also are put in the bags.
