Description
Meet Montu and Cairo!
They're about seven months old, and they're Egyptian Spiny mice. This is a desert species with slightly different care than your standard Fancy mouse. They benefit from having heat, and they're estimated to live for around five years.
They had to be separated recently--I have three brothers that went from best friends to violent enemies shortly after they hit puberty. I'm keeping one, but I'd like to find Montu and Cairo homes with people interested in trying their hand at this very cool, very unusual species. They produce little waste and, I'm told, smell less than normal mice do. They also have fascinating regenerative qualities that I've witnessed firsthand.
Rehoming fee is $20 for each mouse plus their current temporary 10 gallon and its supplies. If you have an enclosure already and are willing to provide a picture, I'd consider dropping the rehoming fee entirely.
I had them in a naturalistic 40-gallon breeder before I had to separate them, and I'd recommend trying for a 20-gallon long as an eventual upgrade. I've also heard they do well with Fancy mice girlfriends, but that's secondhand knowledge.
Thanks for your time! Feel free to reach out with any questions.
