Each session will include one small henna body art piece. You may elect to receive a medium design for an additional $15 or a large design for an additional $25. Upgrades will be discussed and paid for with the artist on site the day of the event. What Do I Need To Know To Book A Henna Body Art appointment? I price small pieces at $20, medium at $35, and $50 for large pieces. For reference, small pieces would be moderate in intricacy and cover slightly less than half of one side of the hand, medium pieces would cover most of one side of the hand, large pieces would cover the entire side of one hand and about two inches above the wrist. What Should I Know To Prepare for My Henna Application? Henna paste takes around 30 minutes to dry so prepare to have the area you want body art to be uncovered for at least 30-45 mins. The design needs to be on the skin 2-4 hours total at minimum for a good stain. The longer the paste remains on your skin the darker the stain will be and ultimately the design will last longer before fading. Make sure to avoid any oils or lotions on the area that henna will be applied. Lotions and self-tanners will block the skin from absorbing your henna stain. You want to avoid water for the first day so make sure to shower before your session. It's a good idea to plan ahead so you won't need to shower after your henna is applied. Exfoliating the area you will apply the art will help the stain absorb into your skin. What Should I Do For The Aftercare Of My Henna Body Art? Henna takes around 48 hours to fully darken. It starts out bright orange and gradually darkens to a reddish/brown, so don’t be disappointed when it’s light when it first comes off! For the following day’s shower, you want to apply a generous amount of coconut oil, vaseline, or a natural balm on the stain to protect it from water. Avoiding water for 24-48 hours really does make a difference! A typical stain lasts for 7-10 days before fading. The design can be seen on the skin for several weeks with proper before and aftercare.
