Arts Council Announces Sculptures And Locations For ARTsites 2021

ELLICOTT CITY, MD —The Howard County Arts Council announced last week that 12 sculptures have been select for ARTsites 2021, an annual public art exhibit. The council also announced the sites around Howard County where the sculptures will be displayed between August 2021 and July 2022. According to a release, ARTsites takes the artwork from the "confines of a gallery," and places it outdoors, in public spaces, for all to enjoy. "Every year, these head-turning art displays create new visual landmarks and increase the community's access to the arts," the council wrote. The selected artwork and host sites for ARTsites 2021 are: Title: The Single Twist 2; Artist: Mary Angers; Location: Howard County Government, George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City. Title: Sun to Moon Rotation; Artist: Mary Angers; Location: Clarksville Commons, 12230 and 12250 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville. Title: Long Walk Home; Artist: Charlie Brouwer; Location: James and Anne Robinson Nature Center, 7340 Grace Dr., Columbia. Title: Dalliance II; Artist: Jeffrey Chyatte; Location: Corporate Office Properties Trust, 6711 Columbia Gateway Drive, Suite 300, Columbia. Title: Gypsy Passion; Artist: Hanna Jubran; Location: Howard County General Hospital, 5755 Cedar Ln., Columbia.
