Man Missing For Weeks Found Safe

By John Gibson, WNIN June 2, 2021 A missing Evansville man has been found safe. Evansville Police says officers were dispatched to the area of Hesmer and Weaver roads over the weekend after a caller reported a man sitting at the edge of a wooded area. In a release, the EPD said officers quickly determined it was 44-year-old Jason Patrick Smith. The man's mother reported him missing almost a month ago. She described him as mentally challenged. Smith's family was notified after he was found and he was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. The EPD thanked everyone who reached out to police and helped locate Smith WNIN is the NPR/PBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.
