Seeking a full time Maintenance/Handy Person for the White Sands Resort of Longboat Key who will be responsible for repair of all structures located on the resort property and all forms of recreational equipment offered by the resort, ensuring safe usage by owners and guests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains a professional, friendly and positive attitude with owners, guests and staff. Repair interior walls, floors, and ceilings of any buildings on resort property. Repair exterior features of any buildings on resort property (not structural) Maintain common area lighting. Repair/replace fences bordering resort property or encircling swimming pools on Gulfside and Bayside of resort property. Repair (minor) all forms of transportation offered for use by resort guests or owners, i.e., bicycles, sailboats, rowboat and paddle boats. Repair/replace/clean outside furniture located on beach area, around swimming pools or on porches/patios of condominium units. Clean and maintain proper PH levels on Gulfside and Bayside pools. Clean and repair barbeque grills. Replace propane tanks as needed. Maintain reasonable level of parts inventory. Inform management when reordering is necessary. Perform maintenance checks on kitchen appliances, light fixtures, lamps, bathroom fixtures and furniture in addition to doors, windows, and vertical blinds after guests/owners check out each Saturday. Report repairs requiring outside contractors. Touch up paint and caulk as needed. Maintain tools to extend usage. On-Call responsibilities. Maintain housekeeping and maintenance carts, ensuring proper levels of operating fluids and that batteries are charged. Qualifications: Dependable, capable of handling emergencies, pleasant personality and positive demeanor. Responds promptly to owner & guest requests and needs. General knowledge of appliances, carpentry, painting, general repairs, basic plumbing and electrical knowledge Education and/or experience: High school education and two-three years experience in resort maintenance, or the equivalent, are the minimum requirements for this position. Language skills: Must read, write and speak English. Speaking Spanish would be considered a plus! Must have: Valid Driver’s License, Vehicle Working hours/days: Maintenance Person at White Sands of Longboat Resort performs all above referenced tasks Monday - Saturday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with one-half hour for lunch with Thursday and Sunday off.
