The First Congregational Church of Marshfield, 1981 Ocean St., will host its 127th Annual Summer Fair on Saturday, July 10 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on the Town Training Green located at the intersection of Routes 3A/139.
The fair will feature booths of local crafters and artisans, anchored by the time-honored Ladies Benevolent Society, which hosted the inaugural fair in 1874. Offerings include a variety of unique knitted, crocheted and stitched handwork, nautical décor, artwork, photography, decorative painting, jewelry, wind chimes, pottery for the home and garden, cutting and charcuterie boards, soap, handmade stuffed animals and Christmas ornaments.
Hunt for treasures in the Odds 'n' Ends tent and browse the specialty “shops”, located in the Parish Hall, presenting an indescribable assortment of pre-owned “stuff”: the Church Fare Thrift and Gift Shoppe – contemporary, vintage, primitive and antique home décor, china, glassware, collectibles and artwork, toys and a little bit of everything else; the Boutique – gently used and vintage apparel, accessories and jewelry, the Book Nook – used books, CDs, and DVDs.
The Sweet Shoppe stall will be bursting with tasty treats to tempt every sweet tooth and the Garden stall will offer an assortment of annuals, perennials, houseplants and garden wares. The Kidz Korner will include a Frog Pond, crafts, temporary tattoos, and popcorn.
Snack concession will be hosted by the Ladies Benevolent Society featuring fresh egg, tuna and chicken salad sandwiches and a Hot Dog Bar.
A Penny Raffle features a curated collection of prizes including items made by the artisans and crafters. Participants may buy as many tickets as they like, and bid on any item(s). Tickets will be drawn at 5 p.m.
Admission to the fair and additional parking is available at the Town Hall. Come rain or shine!
