Description
Our Custodian is responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. This role is critical to the safety and health of our employees working out of all Nite Ize facilities.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position on 2nd shift with regular work hours of M-F: 2:45 pm - 11:15 pm.
Hiring pay: $14.00- $15.00/hour plus 7% shift differential.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsible for diligently following protocol, including emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surface, to ensure all buildings are safe and clean.
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Clean and service restrooms daily with mops and disinfectants.
Use appropriate cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
Sweep and mop floors; steam-clean carpets.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean.
Apply wax to coat floors and buff; apply sealant to floors to provide long-term protection.
Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED.
Previous work experience in custodial services preferred.
Attention to detail, mechanically inclined.
Ability to think creatively, be positive and be innovative.
Must be comfortable and prepared to regularly lift and /or move up to 50lbs.
Ability to stand and walk for most of 8-hour shift.
Must be able to communicate fluently (read, write, and speak) in English.
