You bring up a lot of great points. But its not limited to just singers or marks as you called it. It runs across the board. There are tons of what are called basement bands who 10 years ago couldn't get a gig playing for free in a subway who are now the mainstream of the weekend warrior bars. Before anyone gets crazy with the term weekend warrior let me explain. I mean the players who don't practice, lead vocalists who really can't sing and players who have no responsibility at all then show up 20 minutes late for the gig cause they had to work late. If you can't make the gig then don't play in a band and screw the other players. There are weekend warriors who are very responsible, practice and take pride in their gear and play really well. They don't use their day job as an excuse to suck. Everyone is a star just ask them!
