The Iowa DNR Parks Preserves and Forestry Bureau is hiring immediately a seasonal natural resource aide for Walnut Woods State Park and the DNR Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. This position will perform all routine maintenance at the ISF DNR grounds including, but not limited to, lawn mowing, weeding, cleaning of leaves, sticks, debris, trash removal, cleaning waterfall area, applying mulch to stage area, killing weeds and invasive species of plants around the grounds, cleaning the back room storage areas, cleaning the restroom, ensuring all supplies for the restroom are supplied and fulfilled, power washing floors in the main concourse of the building and the back rooms, dusting, building new shelves and other minor carpentry work, hanging up posters and other materials for the State Fair time, assisting with TV setup/mounting/installation--among other technical needs and manual labor for setup for the State Fair, and ensuring the DNR building at the fair is in top-notch pristine condition for the State Fair. The dates of employment begin immediately through September; however, will be flexible with return to educational institutions in the fall. Starting salary is $11.54 per hour.
