EXPERIENCED AUTO BODY TECH/PAINTER POSITION INFORMATION: The AUTO Body Technician/Painter is responsible for preparing collision damaged sheet metal for paint on vehicles of every make and model. The successful candidate for this full-time position will be responsible for using repair techniques that are consistent with Knight's Body Shop company philosophy and insurance company standards. Requirements: Qualified applicants have the motivation and ability to: *Prep, paint and jam affected body panels and vehicles as efficiently as possible using our processes. *Work both independently and as part of a team. *Continuously strive to improve efficiency in his/her own work area and the overall operation. *Meet daily and weekly deadlines. *Work to ensure complete customer satisfaction on every job. *Maintain work habits consistent with Company policy and procedure. *Work safely and efficiently. Must Possess the Following: • POSITIVE ATTITUDE • HUSTLE-STRONG WORK ETHIC • INTEGRITY • ABILITY AND WILLINGNESS TO LEARN • PUNCTUAL • IMPECCABLE ATTENDANCE • ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY • MINIMUM 1 YEAR EXPERIENCE WORKING IN THIS FIELD • DESIRE/ABILITY TO FOLLOW DIRECTION • ATTENTION TO DETAIL Roles and Responsibilities for the position can include: • Panel fit and alignment • Disassembly of vehicles • Final assembly of the vehicle • Block sanding of primer area • Application of Bondo to body repair area • Maintains a clean and organized work area • Efficiently work and maintain company minimum standards • Maintain collision repair equipment to ensure proper performance • Inspect all parts and areas of the vehicles scheduled to be repaired • Ensure all needed repairs identified to reduce eliminate supplements • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy • Work with other departments to ensure a quality product and on-time delivery • Must review the repair order for each vehicle prior to beginning any work on the vehicle • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel or crouch in providing a properly prepared vehicle for painting • Bodyman must follow high-quality standards to minimize defects and exceed company standards • Duties including lifting, preparing, sanding, taping, masking & cleaning of vehicles prior to being moved into painting • Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of materials and acquire knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements • Must communicate with employers and other employees to plan and execute a quality repair on a variety of vehicles, including cars & trucks • Demonstrated commitment to continued learning
