The Role Digifabshop Cabinetmaking Team Lead is the kind of person who cares about 1/64” and is excited to work with all types of materials such as sheet goods, solid surface composites, and hardwoods, everything from Anigre to Zebrawood. Managing our Cabinetmakers, crucial members of our millwork team who provide a high skill level of artistry and an eye for detail, taking on custom projects that keep true to our core values of exploring new techniques and technologies. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Works well as a leader, giving directions and assignments, delegating and managing a work team of anywhere from 5 to 20 direct reports and has the ability to teach and mentor all woodworking techniques executed at Digifabshop. Proactively seeks continuous improvement and professional development. Meaningfully contribute to team meetings, training, policies, strategy and culture. Punctuality and the ability to multi-task and manage a busy production schedule is a must. The ability to do all of the above tasks while maintaining a safety-first attitude and actively monitoring and contributing to the overall safe work environment that Digfabshop prides itself on Provide continual feedback to management concerning status of projects Perform quality assurance/quality control checks on project components Skills & Background Experience in management, preferably in millwork or construction Ability to work efficiently with strong personal management, organizational and problem solving skills Strong training, coaching and communication skills Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously High level of professionalism in dealing with coworkers Dedication and positive team attitude A minimum of 5 years of verifiable full-time cabinet or furniture shop experience. The ability to read and interpret shop drawings. Must have experience and skills with all aspects of millwork including miter folds, face frame pocket hole joinery, dadoes and rabbets, etc. Knows precise techniques and use of hand tools and an understanding of how to maintain sharp and effective equipment, and has the ability to properly setup and run machinery such as wide belt planer/sanders, shapers, multi-rip saws and edgebanders and is proficient in the use of hand-held routers, biscuit/domino joiners, and all other power tools related to typical cabinetmaking and furniture building procedures. Possesses a comprehensive understanding of S4S lumber milling using a jointer, table saw, and planer.
