Trail Dogs is hiring an Assistant Pack Leader! We believe in the importance of structured exercise and training for a happy balanced dog. We provide a full range of services that focuses on a dogs training, exercise and adventure needs. We offer training, solo or pack hiking, and boarding/sitting. We are looking for the perfect person(s) to assist with our training focused hiking program. You: • love dogs (any size, any breed) and nature, and are not afraid of the elements (dirt, slobber, lizards, snakes, bugs - flies, spiders, ticks, etc.). • are comfortable around a large pack of dogs, able to handle a small group. • physically fit and able to hike at a moderate to fast pace on various levels of terrain/incline for at least 2 hours. • can think on your feet and are a problem solver with a positive attitude who is eager to learn. You should live within/close to our service area of the west side of Los Angeles. You must have reliable transportation and the ability to transport dogs to and from the trail. The position is part time; initially meeting at the trail for training/assistance (roughly 2 hours - availability should be 1-4pm), eventually helping with transport (roughly 4 hours - availability should be 10:30-4:30pm), and more. Initially this position will be for 3 days a week, moving to 5 days a week in the future. We hike in the Santa Monica mountains and service the west side of Los Angeles; Monday - Friday in the afternoon, rain or shine, cold or hot weather.
