Maintenance Assistant Pony Bird, Inc. is looking for a full-time Maintenance Assistant! We provide high-quality supports and services for up to 60 individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in a fun, enriching, and supportive environment. This position ensures these environments remain clean and healthy for the individuals who call Pony Bird home. The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing various maintenance and custodial services, primarily at our Mapaville location. Responsibilities include continuous movement such as walking, lifting, bending, and operating equipment. Hours: 5:45 a.m. 2:15 p.m. Schedule: Full-time, five days per week to include every other weekend Pony Bird's core values of compassion, dignity, respect, integrity, and teamwork drive our programs and services. We pride ourselves on our commitment to going above and beyond for our employees with benefits including: STARTING PAY OF UP TO $14.00 (based on experience) FREE TRAINING GREAT BENEFITS Qualifications: Must be in good physical health and capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance, and walking or standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to climb ladders and lift or carry heavy equipment. Must be able to take necessary and appropriate action for resident safety in case of emergency, fire, or disaster. Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees including: bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Responsibilities: Responsible for repair and maintenance of vans, kitchen, and laundry appliances. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended and return it to its proper location after use. Detect, correct, and repair any hazardous conditions or concerns that have the possibility of causing accidents or injuries. Install, monitor, maintain, and repair stationary equipment to ensure safety and continuous operation. Monitor, operate, inspect, repair, test, and maintain all equipment and related activities involving heating, cooling and ventilation. Perform general repairs to equipment and systems. Paint walls and equipment. Answer trouble calls. Execute preventative maintenance assignments. Complete work orders and preventative maintenance correctly and in a reasonable length of time. Safely performs minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs. Perform minor fixture installation and painting duties. Must be able to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Must be able to read and comprehend manufacturer's specifications. Must be able to meet the attendance expectations (be at the worksite on time as scheduled). Must have reliable, consistent transportation to work site.
