Enjoy some fresh air and good company with the Pine Lily Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society as we hike the St Cloud Lakefront path!
St. Cloud Lakefront Park features a two-mile recreational pathway along the south shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga. The park is a focal point for recreation in St. Cloud with many bikers, runners, groups, families, and individuals enjoying its facilities. This neighborhood Central Florida biking path can be a launch point to explore old residential areas of the city of St. Cloud and the historic antique district on New York and Pennsylvania Ave.
This field trip will begin outside of Crabby Bill’s, where we will then head out to walk along the path. If you have binoculars, this would be a great trip to bring them along! We will discuss the role of local conservation efforts in a semi-urban environment, along with threats to the area such as a proposed seaplane base.
Dress for Florida outdoors. Trails are in full sun. Bring water, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, snacks, optional picnic lunch/snacks, and proper clothing for the weather. Please also bring a face mask!
The Pine Lily Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society serves Osceola County and the surrounding communities. We work to educate the public on the benefits of native plants.
