The Power of Continuous Lights
With the continued capabilities of higher ISO imagery, the world of continuous lights has led us to a whole new frontier of image-making. As an “old-timer” I still remember shooting with 20Amp Hot lights that required a single fuse to run a single light. Those times are gone, for the most part, that style of imagery is gone as we have developed the unfortunate habit of leaning too heavily on strobes and high-power studio flash to create our lighting styles.
This class is designed to teach you how to create light like the old masters and still have the flexibility of creating that beautiful soft light that we all know and love nowadays.
We will take that walk together creating live, in-class images that can be found in the archives of the '40s and '50s style lighting books and some of the most modern of lights today. All of this while staying on a budget that will astound the photographers of only a few years ago.
Come join me in this informative and eye-opening exploration of the future.
Dodd Camera was founded in 1891 on East 4th Street in Cleveland, Ohio. We were founded as an architecture supply store, stocking a variety of drawing and art supplies. By the early 1900's, Dodd Camera partnered with Eastman Kodak to bring his revolutionary camera to the market. This is where our focus on photography began.
We operate nine local camera stores throughout Ohio, and opened our first Chicago store in 2008. Each of these stores provide excellent customer service, friendly and knowledgeable sales staff, as well as classes and events throughout the year.
