Story Mornings are to create connections between founders to give inspiration and excitement to the community. Join us in the class room at Story for our monthly morning series: Story Mornings. Story has been a pioneer in providing unique coworking spaces for startups to plant their seeds and network within the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Louisville. We use Story Mornings as a way to give back to our community by diving deep into the journey of local and regional founders. This event will include complimentary coffee, Elixir Kombucha, and donuts. Mask required if not fully vaccinated. RSVP today to hold your spot! Meet Michael Kopp: Founder and Executive Director of The Social Practice Lab KY INC. He is also a Community Health Manager at Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness where he oversees the largest comprehensive HIV prevention program in the Commonwealth. Prior to this, Kopp was the Art + Operations Director at 1619 Flux: Art + Activism located in West End Louisville. Kopp obtained his MFA from Bowling Green State University in 2018 where he focused his research on Social Practice and Institutional Critique. He has presented his research at The Ohio State University and Indiana University; and he has exhibited internationally at the Millepiani Gallery in Rome, Italy. Community engaged work has been the cornerstone of Kopp’s artistic practice; a practice that removes the artist from the studio and out of visual production mode and implants them into community leadership positions. About The Social Practice Lab: IDEOLOGY Social Practice is a contemporary art practice which aims to create social and/or political change through collaboration with individuals, communities, and institutions. The Social Practice Lab designs and manages collaborative projects that operate at the intersection of public health and public art. The Social Practice Lab applies principles of art, public health, and critical service learning to create measurable impact in the public health outcomes in underserved communities across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
